My "Everyday" Anniversary Ring: A 7-Year Nightmare of Cracks, Breaks, and Belligerent Service! 😡💍
I'm writing this to warn others about a truly terrible experience I've had with a significant jewelry purchase. I wanted to share my story because my beautiful anniversary ring, bought for the cost of a nice used car, has been a nightmare. It was sold to me as a ring I could wear every day, but it has cracked three times, the diamond chain has broken off twice, and a diamond has fallen out – all within seven years! The structural design is clearly poor, and after four breaks, Shreve & Co. will no longer stand behind it. Even contacting the SF store hasn't helped; they haven't returned my emails. My call with the manager was met with belligerence, not solutions. This whole ordeal has compelled me to leave this review and try to get some resolution with customer service.
Customer: I'm incredibly frustrated about my anniversary ring. It's broken four times in seven years, and now you won't do anything about it. CS Rep: I'm very sorry to hear about the ongoing issues with your ring and the frustration this has caused, especially given its sentimental value and cost. I understand you've had it repaired multiple times. Customer: Multiple times is an understatement! It's been cracked three times, a diamond chain broke twice, and a diamond fell out. This was supposed to be an everyday ring, and your manager was belligerent when I tried to discuss a return. CS Rep: That is absolutely unacceptable, and I sincerely apologize for both the repeated failures of the ring and the way your concerns were handled by our manager. That is not the standard of service we aim for. Let me look into your purchase history and see what options we have to rectify this situation, beyond just another repair. Customer: I just want a reliable ring, or my money back. This has been a source of constant disappointment.
